London-based smartphone brand Nothing has launched its latest mid-range smartphones, the Nothing Phone 4a and Nothing Phone 4a Pro, globally as well as in India on Thursday, March 5. The new devices arrive with large AMOLED displays, powerful Snapdragon processors and advanced camera systems, including a periscope zoom lens, positioning them as feature-packed options in the competitive mid-range smartphone segment.
Both models also ship with Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16, promise long-term software support, and introduce improved brightness levels and high refresh rate displays aimed at multimedia users and mobile gamers.

Nothing Phone 4a
Nothing Phone 4a performance, battery and software
Powering the Nothing Phone 4a is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 octa-core processor. The smartphone is available in 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.
It packs a 5,080mAh battery supporting 50W wired charging, along with 7.5W reverse wired charging.
For audio, the phone includes dual stereo speakers and two high-definition microphones. It carries an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, and the device has also been tested for water immersion up to 25cm for up to 20 minutes.
Nothing Phone 4a camera
The Nothing Phone 4a comes with a 50MP main camera with an f/1.88 aperture, along with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS). The camera supports PDAF autofocus and includes the Image Super Resolution (ISR) algorithm for enhanced detail.
It also features a 50MP periscope camera with an f/2.88 aperture, supporting 3.5x optical zoom, 7x in-sensor zoom, and up to 70x ultra zoom, while maintaining stabilisation with OIS and EIS.
The setup further includes an ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree field of view.
On the front, the device houses a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 89-degree field of view.
For video, the phone supports 4K recording at 30fps, 1080p recording at 30fps or 60fps, 1080p Ultra XDR recording at 30fps, slow-motion recording at 1080p 120fps, and time-lapse recording at 4K or 1080p resolution.
Nothing Phone 4a display
The Nothing Phone 4a features a 6.78-inch flexible AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The panel has a resolution of 1224 x 2720 pixels, delivering a 440 PPI pixel density. It supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, while the touch sampling rate reaches up to 2500Hz.
In terms of brightness, the display offers 800 nits typical brightness, 1600 nits outdoor brightness, and a peak brightness of 4500 nits, ensuring visibility even in bright conditions.
The device measures 163.9 mm in height, 77.5 mm in width and 8.5 mm in depth, with a weight of 205 grams.
The smartphone runs Nothing OS 4.1 powered by Android 16. The company promises three years of Android updates and six years of security patches.
The phone also incorporates sustainable materials, including 30% recycled plastic used across nine plastic parts, 100% recycled aluminium used for three parts, 100% recycled tin used in five circuit boards, and 80% recycled steel used across 15 steel components.
The Nothing Phone 4a will be available in White, Black, Blue and Pink colour options.

The Nothing Phone 4a carries an MRP of ₹34,999, while the introductory price starts at ₹31,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant.
The 8GB + 256GB variant has an MRP of ₹37,999 with an initial price of ₹34,999. The 12GB + 256GB model is priced at MRP ₹40,999 with an introductory price of ₹37,999 .
The Pink colour option is available only in the 12GB + 256GB configuration, with MRP ₹40,999 and initial price ₹37,999.
