OnePlus has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, in China. The device features Qualcomm's most powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and an impressive 7,300mAh battery, marking a major leap in performance and endurance.

The handset also introduces OnePlus's new DetailMax imaging engine, designed to deliver enhanced photo detail and clarity.

Interestingly, the company has skipped the number 14 after the OnePlus 13, as the number four is considered unlucky in Chinese culture. Alongside the flagship, OnePlus also announced the OnePlus Ace 6, which is expected to launch in India later as the OnePlus 15R.

OnePlus 15 design and build

The OnePlus 15 sports a refined design with a glass front protected by Gorilla Glass, an aluminium alloy frame, and either a Crystal Shield Glass or glass fibre back. Measuring 161.4 x 76.7 x 8.1 mm, the device feels premium yet manageable in hand.

It boasts IP66/IP68/69/IP69K ratings, meaning it can withstand dust, immersion in water up to 2 metres for 30 minutes, and even high-pressure water jets.

OnePlus 15 display

The OnePlus 15 features a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display that supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HDR Vivid. With 1 billion colours, Ultra HDR support, and a 1272 x 2772 pixel resolution, it offers rich contrast and vivid detail.

The panel reaches up to 1800 nits brightness and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. A dedicated Display P3 chip enhances colour accuracy and overall visual experience, making it ideal for both entertainment and professional use.

OnePlus 15 performance

Running Android 16 with ColorOS 16, the OnePlus 15 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3nm) processor. Its octa-core setup features dual Oryon V3 Phoenix L cores clocked at 4.6GHz and six Phoenix M cores at 3.62GHz, ensuring lightning-fast performance.

The device also includes the Adreno 840 GPU for top-tier graphics and a G2 gaming chip for smoother gaming.

OnePlus 15 storage and RAM

The OnePlus 15 is offered in five variants - 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 16GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, 16GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage. It uses UFS 4.1 storage technology for faster data speeds and smoother multitasking performance.

OnePlus 15 camera

The OnePlus 15 features a powerful triple rear camera setup, all with 50MP sensors.

It includes a 50MP primary wide lens with an f/1.8 aperture, 24mm focal length, and a 1/1.56-inch sensor, equipped with PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) for crisp, detailed shots in all lighting conditions.

The second is a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with an f/2.8 aperture and 80mm focal length, offering 3.5x optical zoom with PDAF and OIS for sharper distant captures.

Completing the setup is a 50MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.0 aperture, 16mm focal length, and a 116° field of view, perfect for expansive landscape shots and group photos.

For video, the rear camera supports 8K recording at 30fps, 4K recording at 30/60/120fps, and 1080p at 30/60/240fps, giving creators flexibility to shoot high-quality videos with professional-grade detail and stability.

On the front, there's a 32MP camera that supports 4K video recording and HDR, ideal for content creators and video calls alike.

OnePlus 15 battery

Powering the device is a 7,300mAh silicon-carbon battery with Glacier vapour cooling. It supports 120W wired charging, capable of reaching 50% in just 15 minutes and 100% in 40 minutes.

Wireless charging is rated at 50W, along with 10W reverse wireless and 5W reverse wired options - a comprehensive setup for modern users.

OnePlus 15 colours and sensors

The handset comes in three elegant finishes - Infinite Black, Ultra Violet, and Sand Storm.

The OnePlus 15 comes equipped with a range of advanced sensors, including an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor, UAV-grade gyroscope, compass, and barometer (not available in the China variant).

OnePlus 15 launch and price

The OnePlus 15 is currently exclusive to China, starting at 3,999 Yuan (around ₹50,000) for the 12GB + 256GB model. The company is expected to roll out the phone globally, including in India, by mid-November.

While OnePlus has yet to confirm Indian pricing, it is likely to stay close to the OnePlus 13's ₹72,999 price range.
