'Priyam' changed my life, says actress Deepa Nair; Kunchacko Boban reacts

The Malayalam film Priyam, starring Kunchacko Boban and Deepa Nair in the lead roles, marks 26 years since its release. To commemorate the milestone, Deepa Nair shared a nostalgic video on Instagram, featuring memorable moments from the film.

In the video, Deepa expressed heartfelt gratitude to the audience, saying that the love and support she continues to receive even after 26 years is a true blessing. She revisited the memories of the film, including clips from songs like "Katturumbi Kalyanam," and tagged co-stars Kunchacko Boban, along with former child artists Manjima Mohan and Arunkumar.

"Exactly 26 years ago today, Priyam hit the screens and changed my life forever. Playing the role of Annie remains one of my most cherished memories. Looking back at these old photos and videos brings such a rush of emotions-it feels like just yesterday we were on set! To all the 90's kids who grew up with this film and still shower me with so much love and support nearly three decades later: Thank you. Your kindness is the greatest gift this journey has given me," Deepa wrote alongside the video.

Kunchacko Boban shared Deepa's post on his Instagram story, writing, "Happy to see you keeping good dear Hope to catch up soon!!!!."

The film also featured Ashwin Thampi, Jagathi Sreekumar, Thilakan, Kanakalatha, and Indrans in key roles. Directed by Sanal, Priyam was released on March 31, 2000, and produced by KK Nair. Recently, Deepa clarified social media rumours claiming that the film was produced by her father, emphasising that KK Nair was indeed the producer. She shared that the producer's granddaughter confirmed this to her, and she felt deeply saddened by the misinformation circulating online.
