Nashik: Authorities in Nashik have registered nine FIRs linked to allegations of workplace sexual harassment and attempted religious conversion at a local IT firm, triggering a wide-ranging investigation.
Police say the case involves complaints from multiple employees, including women who alleged sustained mental and sexual harassment by senior colleagues within the organisation.
Accused acted in coordinated manner, say police
According to senior officials, preliminary findings suggest that the accused male employees may have operated in an organised manner to target female colleagues.
Investigators stated that several of the accused appeared across multiple complaints, indicating possible coordination in the alleged misconduct.
Police also questioned the role of two female employees, including an operations head and HR personnel.
One of them has been arrested, while another is absconding. Officials allege that the HR head discouraged at least one victim from filing a complaint, allegedly downplaying the issue by saying "these things happen".
Court sends accused to judicial custody
A local court has remanded one of the arrested female managers to judicial custody till April 28 as the investigation continues.
The case is being handled by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed after multiple complaints surfaced from employees within the firm.
Police have also written to central and specialised agencies, including the SID, ATS, and NIA, to examine whether there are any broader links to the allegations.
Officials, however, have stressed that the investigation is still at an early stage and no conclusion has been reached regarding external involvement.

Company response and internal probe
The incident has prompted concern at the corporate level, with senior leadership acknowledging the seriousness of the allegations and ordering an internal investigation to establish facts and accountability.
The case involves employees holding supervisory roles, who are alleged to have misused their positions within the workplace environment.
Officials said initial reluctance among complainants eased after counselling and support from police teams, including female officers deployed to interact with staff at the workplace.
This led to additional complaints being filed, expanding the scope of the investigation.
The case remains under active investigation, with police examining multiple FIRs, alleged coordinated misconduct, and possible misuse of authority within the organisation. Authorities have said further action will depend on the outcome of ongoing inquiries.
