India's first Vande Bharat Sleeper train is grabbing national attention as it redefines overnight rail travel with modern design, upgraded comfort and premium features not seen before in long-distance trains.
Launched on the Howrah-Kamakhya route, the new sleeper version of the Vande Bharat has quickly gone viral on social media, with travellers sharing videos of its futuristic interiors, faster speeds and hotel-style amenities.
One of the most talked-about features is the train's smart glass compartment doors. A viral video by travel creator Kailashi Yash Bajpai (@explorewithkailashi) shows how passengers can switch the glass from transparent to opaque in 1st class AC at the press of a button, allowing them to look outside briefly while maintaining privacy inside.
His videos also highlight personal air vents, bright lighting, secure locking systems, and even shower-equipped washrooms.
The train also includes a dedicated dog box, making it pet-friendly - a rare feature in Indian Railways sleeper services.
Premium blankets and cleaner travel experience
Another viral reel by Sukant Shaw shows the new printed blanket covers provided on the Vande Bharat Sleeper. Unlike traditional railway blankets, these feature a blue-and-green design with official railway branding and are removable for washing between uses.
Indian Railways introduced the covers following long-standing passenger concerns about hygiene. The premium linen kit also includes a bedsheet, pillow cover and hand towel.
