Malayalam television actor Sidharth Prabhu was arrested in Kottayam on Wednesday night after his car allegedly lost control and hit a pedestrian on MC Road around 8.30 pm, triggering a major roadside commotion.
According to complaints, when locals rushed to help the injured pedestrian, the actor allegedly manhandled bystanders, used abusive language, and created chaos on the road. Police soon arrived at the scene and took Prabhu into custody. He was later subjected to a medical examination as part of the procedure.
Videos showing the actor arguing with locals and police, and lying on the road, have since gone viral on social media, intensifying public scrutiny.
However, the incident took a controversial turn after influencer Anna Johnson came forward with explosive statements that pulled the actor into a separate, older controversy.
In a strongly worded video statement, Johnson claimed she had met Prabhu at Hotel No. 18 in Kochi on October 21, 2021, during a DJ party that later became controversial following the deaths of former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabir and runner-up Anjana Shajan in a car accident. Their friend Muhammad Ashiq, who was also in the vehicle, later died due to injuries. Watch the video below:
Johnson alleged that after she had featured visuals from the gathering in her vlog, she was personally requested not to release footage or photographs, claiming that several actors, actresses, and even minors were present at the party. She stated that she kept her promise of silence until now.
"I could have gained reach by naming people, but I didn't. I kept my word till December 25," Johnson said, adding that attention should be on those who allegedly enable such parties, rather than individual attendees.
It is important to note that no direct allegation or charge has been filed against Prabhu in connection with the 2021 Kochi case. Johnson's statements remain personal allegations and recollections, and the police have not officially linked the actor to that investigation.
Until this arrest, Prabhu had largely maintained a clean public image. He began his career as a child actor in 'Thatteem Mutteem' (2011-2023), later gained popularity as a lead in 'Su Su Surabhiyum Suhasiniyum' (2022-2025), and finally made a celebrated entry into 'Uppum Mulakum' (2015-2021).
As the Kottayam accident case proceeds, Johnson's remarks have ensured that the episode remains firmly in the public eye-turning a road accident arrest into one of the most talked-about controversies in Malayalam television this year.
