Mumbai: Celebrated star Yash marked his 40th birthday on Thursday with a powerful surprise for fans, as the makers of his highly anticipated film "Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups" released the first look of his character, Raya-a bold, raw and intense persona that instantly set social media abuzz.

The gripping video introduction, shared by Yash on Instagram and X, highlights the film's dark tone and high-octane action.

The teaser opens in a haunting graveyard setting during a burial, before cutting to Yash's character in a car, sharing a calm and intimate moment with a woman, even as a bomb sits ominously behind them. Moments later, chaos erupts with explosions and gunfire, bodies lie across the cemetery, and Raya emerges unfazed, cigar in mouth, Tommy gun in hand, exuding cold confidence and swagger.

Without revealing much, Yash captioned the video: "RAYA Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups in cinemas worldwide on 19-03-2026," confirming the global theatrical release date.

Earlier, the makers had announced the powerful female cast, featuring Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria, increasing excitement around the film.

Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas and directed by Mohandas, "Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups" has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and other languages to cater to a pan-India and international audience. The story reportedly unfolds in 1980s Goa, exploring the dark underworld of a powerful drug cartel operating beneath the region's vibrant façade.

The film boasts an impressive technical crew, including National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni and production designer TP Abid. The action blocks are mounted on a grand scale, choreographed by Hollywood action legend JJ Perry (John Wick), along with National Award-winning stunt directors Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.

Produced by Venkat K under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, "Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups" is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on 19 March 2026, coinciding with Eid, Ugadi and Gudi Padwa, positioning it as one of the biggest upcoming Indian film releases.

This intense first look of Yash as Raya has already fuelled massive buzz, making "Toxic" one of the most awaited action thrillers in Indian cinema.
