Vijay's TVK emerges as third major political force in Tamil Nadu with 13.6% vote share: Survey

Chennai: A comprehensive political survey by research firm Parawheel indicates a major shift in the Tamil Nadu political landscape. The study projects that TVK, led by actor Vijay, has emerged as the state's third major force, following the established giants DMK and AIADMK.

The booth-level scientific opinion survey, which covered over 70.2 lakh voters across all 234 Assembly constituencies, places the DMK in the lead with a 41.5% vote share, followed by the AIADMK at 36.2%. TVK is projected to secure 13.6%, while NTK follows with 7.9%.

Particularly in Chennai, the data suggests that TVK is gaining substantial traction among youth and first-time voters, even overtaking the AIADMK to become the second strongest force in several urban segments.

According to Parawheel CEO Kiran Kondetti the research is focussed on voter sentiment studies across key regions including Chennai, Coimbatore, the Delta districts, and Southern, Northern and Western Tamil Nadu, along with detailed analysis of caste coalitions, governance perception and anti-incumbency trends. It examines the role of first-time voters, women voters, and swing constituencies in shaping electoral outcomes.

A special area of analysis was done for TVK-Vijay factor, studying the transition of fan bases into voters, youth mobilisation and its potential impact on the vote share of major parties such as DMK and AIADMK.

The firm, powered by KK Surveys & Strategies Pvt Ltd, is also introducing a "One Candidate - One War Room" initiative to provide real-time data and analytics to individual candidates.
