The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has officially announced the declaration date for the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) 2026, ending the long wait for lakhs of Class 10 students across the state.
As per a press release issued on April 17 by the Board Secretary, the Madhyamik results will be announced on May 8, 2026 (Friday).
The update provides much-needed clarity for candidates who appeared for the crucial secondary-level examination earlier this year.
The Board stated that further details on access to results and related instructions will be shared in due course, urging students to stay connected only to official sources for accurate updates.
Exams held in February; Results in just 85 days
The Madhyamik Pariksha 2026 was conducted from February 2 to February 12 across thousands of centres in West Bengal.
This year saw massive participation, underlining the exam's importance in the state's academic framework.
A total of around 9.71 lakh candidates appeared for the examination at 2,682 centres statewide. Of these, 5.44 lakh were female students, 4.26 lakh male students, and one candidate was registered under the transgender category.
Notably, the results are being declared within 85 days of the last exam, reflecting a relatively efficient evaluation and processing timeline by the Board.
