Police Probe Religious Conversion Allegations in Kadaba; Visitors Clarify Voluntary Faith

Mega Media News 2 weeks ago

Kadaba : The Kadaba police conducted an inspection at a residence in Karmai, Aithoor village, on Thursday night following allegations of forced religious conversion involving Hindu women and children.

The action was prompted by information provided by local groups, claiming that nearly 25 individuals from Bengaluru, including men, women, and children, were staying at the house of a local resident named Joseph for suspicious activities and conversion attempts.

Upon reaching the spot, the police team shifted house owner Joseph and the occupants to the police station for questioning. During the interrogation, the visitors from Bengaluru clarified that they had come to Mangaluru for a vacation. They explained that they were staying at Joseph's house through an acquaintance with his brother, who serves as a Christian priest in Bengaluru. They maintained that their visit was purely personal and recreational in nature.

The individuals from Bengaluru further recorded their statements, asserting that they have been voluntarily practicing Christianity for the past 15 to 20 years. They explicitly denied any allegations of coercion or forced conversion, stating that no one had pressured them into their faith. After recording these official statements and verifying their claims, the police allowed the group to leave as no evidence of illegal activity was found.
