The new YRF Spy Universe movie Alpha starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol opened amid mixed to negative online response, but that didn't deter the audience from watching the movie in theatres.
The Shiv Rawail directorial braved the insane negativity around its release and still managed to record a good opening weekend.

Alpha Nears Rs 60 Crore Box Office In Opening Weekend
The movie collected Rs 9.25 crore on day one in India followed by Rs 11.50 crore on day and Rs 13.25 crore on day three.
This takes the movie's opening weekend domestic total to Rs 34 crore net (Rs 40.80 crore gross).
Overseas, the movie made Rs 18 crore and the 3-day worldwide total of Alpha now stands at Rs 58.80 crore.
It will be interesting to see how well the movie sustains on weekdays and if it can deliver a strong lifetime total at the box office.
Considering the movie is coming after massive failure of War 2 and underperformance of Tiger 3, anything over Rs 100 crore should be a win for the Alia Bhatt starrer.
Having said that, the movie's budget is on a higher side, so turning out to be a box office success is unlikely at the current trajectory.
Baby Do Die Do Box Office Opening Weekend

The other new release of the week, Huma Qureshi's Baby Do Die Do opened to positive reviews, but that didn't reflect in its collection.
The crime thriller only made Rs 1.81 crore in its opening weekend.

Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Arshad Warsi's Welcome to the Jungle made Rs 93 crore in week one and further collected Rs 21.75 crore on weekend two.

The 10-day total of the movie now stands at Rs 114.90 crore. At the worldwide box office, the movie has made Rs 166.75 crore.
Main Vaapas Aaunga Records Another Strong Weekend
Despite facing multiple new releases including Welcome to the Jungle, Alpha and Baby Do Die Do, Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga starring Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, Vedang Raina and Naseeruddin Shah has made Rs 5.25 crore in weekend four.

The weekend four biz is similar to its opening weekend collection and now the 24-day total of Main Vaapas Aaunga now stands at Rs 57.50 crore.
At the worldwide box office, the movie has made Rs 87.24 crore. It is expected to end its run at around Rs 110 crore globally.
