Mithun Chakraborty Calls Out Dhurandhar 2 Propaganda Allegations
While talking to IANS, Mithun stated that his movie The Bengal Files was also not allowed to release in West Bengal. He said, "The Bengal Files ko release hone nahi diya, isse badi kya baat karenge? Ab Dhurandhar ko bhi propaganda kehte, toh Dhurandhar ko bhi rok lete na? Dhurandhar release hui, aur ab aap kehte ho ki propaganda hai. Lekin The Bengal Files ka release tak nahi hone diya. Uske against mein jaake, film ko release tak hone nahi diya Bengal mein. Isse badi dukh ki baat kya ho sakti hai? (The Bengal Files wasn't allowed to release. What else can be said. Now they are calling Dhurandhar propaganda, so why couldn't they stop its release. Now that the movie has released, you are calling it propaganda. But they didn't let The Bengal Files release in theatres.)"

He further claimed how The Bengal Files was based on real incidents and further defended Aditya Dhar directorial saying, "Toh dadagiri, jo bolna hai boliye, lekin Dhurandhar ne saare records tod diye. Itne logon ne picture dekhi hogi tab na. Har sampraday ke logon ne dekhi hai, tareef ki hai, aur do-teen baar dekhne ke baad hi picture ka yeh business hota hai. (Let them say whatever they wish to. The truth is that Dhurandhar has broken all box office records. And that happened only because people from all communities watched it multiple times and praised it.)"
