Four years after the release of the 2021 film Drishyam 2: The Resumption, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has officially announced the third and reportedly the final instalment in the franchise - Drishyam 3.
Taking to social media, Mohanlal shared a pic with the director Jeethu Joseph and wrote, "The Past Never Stays Silent Drishyam 3 Confirmed! #Drishyam3".

As soon as Mohanlal made the announcement, while a number of fans expressed excitement, there were others who started congratulating Ajay Devgn considering he has starred in the highly successful remakes of Drishyam and Drishyam 2.
One fan wrote, "Ah yes, because nothing says 'thrilling sequel' like stretching a perfectly wrapped-up first part story into another round of hide-and-seek with the cops. What's next, Drishyam 4: The CCTV Strikes Back?"

The original Malayalam franchise started way back in 2013 with the release of Drishyam which was remade in eight different languages in booth India and internationally including the cult classic Hindi remake starring Ajay Devgn.
In 2021, the film's sequel was released which was remade in Hindi among other languages in 2022 with the same name starring Ajay Devgn.

While the Malayalam sequel was an OTT release, the Hindi version went on to become a big blockbuster at the box office.
Now, considering Drishyam 3 is announced, fans can expect its Hindi remake announcement soon.
