Earlier this month, Kamal Haasan confirmed at an award ceremony that he is reuniting with Rajinikanth 46 years after their last film together - the 1979 Tamil film Allauddinum Albhutha Vilakkum .
The film was an adaptation of Aladdin from One Thousand and One Nights and starred Kamal Haasan as the protagonist and Rajinikanth as the antagonist.
Now, Rajinikanth has also confirmed his much-awaited reunion with Kamal Haasan. However, his revelation about the director has people stumped.

Coolie Director Lokesh Kanagaraj Out Of Kamal Haasan & Rajinikanth Movie
During an interaction with the media at the Chennai airport, Rajinikanth confirmed the reunion with Kamal but stated that the director is not decided yet.
He said, "I am doing a film with Raaj Kamal Films International (Kamal Haasan's production house) and Red Giant Movies next."
When further asked if he is excited about the reunion, he said, "Director hasn't been decided yet. It's my wish to act with him. But, we need a proper script and character. The plan is there. We're yet to decide on the director."
Now, this came as a surprise for many considering there were reports that Lokesh Kanagaraj is helming the film after the release of Coolie and before Kaithi 2.
Now, with Rajni's confirmation that no director is on-board, could it be due to the failure of Coolie that Lokesh Kanagaraj is ousted from the film?
