The audience has been divided ever since the Marvel Cinematic Universe revealed the official return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday. After the first trailer got leaked, it would seem that the second was also met with the same fate.
Although it was expected that Chris Hemsworth would return as Thor, Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder left a bitter taste in everyone's mouth. That changes with the new trailer.

Throughout their entire lives, Thor and Loki have shared one very unfortunate connection: daddy issues. Thor: Love and Thunder directly gave him an opportunity to face those through the character of Love. It would seem that the leaked Avengers: Doomsday character takes full advantage of that opportunity.
Thor doesn't just have to fight for his people now; he has a daughter to take care of. It narrates into the idea that the God of Thunder has been burdened with a glorious purpose his entire life, much like his brother. Now is the time when he can choose his battles and his next fight is with none other than Robert Downey Jr's Doom.
A warrior, a king, a god. We've seen him as all of these. The new Avengers movie will change that and we'll be able to see him as a father. The divide that formed with Steve Rogers' trailer is the exact opposite of how impressed fans are with Thor's.

Fans have been extremely impressed with the new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. It makes you feel the intensity of the oncoming threat that is Doom. Thor wants the full force of his powers back to protect that which has been granted to him.
Fans have been ecstatic because of it. They are calling him the Thor that they've been waiting for since Thor: Ragnarok. It has somehow increased the excitement that everyone had because the characterisation of the God of Thunder is back on track with being what fans have loved for years.
Avengers: Doomsday will release in theatres on December 18, 2026. With two more trailers to go, it could very well guarantee the return of the MCU in its full glory.
