New Delhi: Ashu Shinghal has assumed charge as Chief Executive Officer of GAIL Gas Limited. Prior to this, he served as MD of Mahanagar Gas Ltd. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from NIT, Silchar, Shinghal also holds an MBA degree, with specialization in Operation Management.

He joined GAIL as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in 1991 & rose through the ranks to the post of Executive Director in the company, steering key departments such as Corporate Strategy, Planning & Advocacy, Risk Management, Total Quality Management and Sustainable Developments. He also held the post of Chief Risk Officer of the organization. During his career spanning 35 years in the hydrocarbon sector, Shinghal has worked in large scale Project Execution jobs including cross-country Natural Gas Pipelines, Petrochemical, City Gas Distribution and LNG.
