AAP claims water crisis worsening due to vacant CEO post at DJB

MillenniumPost 1 week ago

NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday alleged that the water crisis in Delhi had worsened as the post of chief executive officer of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) had remained vacant for more than a month.

Addressing a press conference, AAP Delhi chief Saurabh Bharadwaj accused the BJP-led Delhi government of failing to prepare for the spike in water demand during summer. He claimed several areas were facing disrupted supply for days, while some localities had not received regular water supply for weeks.

Bharadwaj alleged that the absence of a DJB CEO had delayed key policy decisions and affected water management during the ongoing heatwave. He also claimed residents in many parts of the city were waiting late into the night for water tankers. Calling the situation unprecedented, Bharadwaj said such a prolonged vacancy had never occurred earlier. There was no immediate response from the BJP. pti
