New Delhi: In a major initiative aimed at strengthening the mental well-being and emotional resilience of its personnel, the Central Industrial Security Force has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Heartfulness Institute to introduce meditation, mindfulness and holistic wellness programmes for CISF personnel and their families.
The initiative seeks to help personnel cope with stress arising from demanding operational duties, long deployments and challenging working conditions. Under the partnership, structured wellness programmes will be implemented across the force to promote mental health, emotional stability and an improved quality of life.
As part of the collaboration, CISF personnel will participate in regular meditation and mindfulness workshops, stress management sessions and counselling services. Tailored wellness activities will also be extended to family members. Heartfulness practices will be integrated into the daily routines of CISF training institutes to help personnel develop emotional strength and psychological well-being from the early stages of training.
The programme will provide free wellness sessions to personnel and their families, multilingual emotional support through the "Voice that Cares" service, webinars by experts and specialised learning modules for young people. Senior officials are also expected to take part in restorative gatherings focused on guidance and emotional balance.
CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan stressed the importance of mental health in disciplined forces. He said simple meditation practices could help personnel reduce stress, maintain positivity and build emotional resilience while handling the pressures of duty.
