MCD Commissioner inspects water logging-prone Kutub Road stretch

MillenniumPost 3 weeks ago

New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar on Saturday inspected the waterlogging-prone stretch near Teliwara Akhara on Kutub Road in Sadar Bazar and directed officials to ensure a permanent solution to the problem through inter-departmental coordination.

The inspection was attended by local councillor and Zone Chairman Usha Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Kanika, and officials from the MCD, Delhi Jal Board and Delhi Metro.

During the inspection, officials reviewed the drainage arrangements in the area. The Deputy Commissioner said plastic waste and polythene had earlier accumulated inside a main manhole, obstructing the flow of water. A grill cover has now been installed to prevent solid waste from entering the manhole.

Khirwar also inspected another manhole and directed officials to replace its solid cover with a grill to facilitate faster drainage during heavy rainfall.
