Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday urged people in Punjab to back the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that stronger alignment with the Centre would accelerate the state's growth.
Addressing industrialists in Mandi Gobindgarh, he said Punjab could regain its economic strength under a stable and development-focused government.
Criticising the AAP-led dispensation, Saini alleged that industries in Punjab face regulatory hurdles, power shortages and law-and-order concerns, while Haryana has advanced through investor-friendly policies and improved infrastructure. He highlighted measures such as simplified procedures, a single-window clearance system and upgraded utilities, which have helped attract investment to Haryana.
Saini said initiatives like Make in India, Startup India and Digital India have reshaped the country's industrial landscape. He added that Haryana is preparing a new industrial policy in consultation with stakeholders and has scrapped over 1,100 outdated rules to improve ease of doing business. The Chief Minister outlined upcoming measures, including a 'Land Feasibility Certificate' system, expansion of industrial model townships, and plug-and-play facilities for quicker project execution. He also announced insurance support for MSMEs and faster dispute resolution mechanisms.
