New Delhi: SEIL Energy India Ltd hosted South India's first dedicated conference on control, instrumentation and automation in thermal power plants at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh.
The two-day event, C&I Connect 2026, brought together more than 150 delegates from over 30 power companies and equipment suppliers across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
The conference focused on sustainable solutions through advanced instrumentation and cyber-resilient systems in thermal power plants. Discussions covered digital control systems, Industrial IoT and OT cybersecurity, AI/ML-based predictive maintenance, automatic generation control, flexible plant operations and environmental compliance.
Chief guest K Srinivasa Rao, Director (Thermal & Projects), APPDCL, said such platforms are essential as power plants face growing operational efficiency and digital resilience challenges.
Janmejaya Mahapatra, CEO of SEIL Energy India, said thermal power will continue to remain central to India's energy security, while stressing the importance of intelligent systems, cyber security and innovation in plant
operations.
