Actor Yash made it clear that 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups' hasn't been conceived as children's entertainment. The trailer of the film has sparked criticism over its portrayal of women.

In fact, the song 'Tabaahi' starring Yash and Kiara Advani also faced backlash over its intimate scenes. Yash pointed to the film's tagline, 'A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups', as an important indication of the kind of story audiences are stepping into.

"From the time I have put the title, I have put a tagline under it. This is a fairy tale for grown-ups," he said. Clarifying the intended audience, the 'KGF' actor said, "Children don't have to watch. This film is not made for children. All the children have to stay at home. That is very clear. We have not made it for kids."

Yash, who appeared on a TV show, also responded to the criticism surrounding the 'vulgarity' in the film. "Vulgarity is wrong. I haven't even kissed, as you may have noticed," he said. But the actor also said that things need to be shot aesthetically to make it visually appealing.

The superstar also opened up about his experience of working with director Geetu Mohandas and credited her for pushing him to explore a different side of himself as an actor in 'Toxic', which releases on August 26. "Geetu comes across like she is strict, but she is very, very jovial. The way she creates the atmosphere for everybody on the set, I think she has pushed all of us. Especially for me, she has pushed me. She has made me learn lines in English," he said.

Emphasising the importance of trusting a director's vision, Yash added, "I think it is important for you to have faith in your director. I had that faith, so I think you have witnessed a different kind of Yash in this movie."
