The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the 15-member Team India squad for the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup that will take place in England and Wales from 12 June.

The squad is also the same for India's three-match T20I series against England in England, that will be held before the T20 World Cup. India will play three T20Is against England between 28 May and 3 June.

Regular skipper Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team, with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy.

Notable absentees from squad

The squad also includes the usual suspects like Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh among others. Kashvee Gautam, Harleen Deol, Sneh Rana and Amanjot Kaur are among the notable absentees from the squad.

Kashvee and Amanjot, in fact, are unavailable for the tournament due to injuries.

India's pace attack for the tournament includes Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Thakur, Kranto Goud and Nandini Sharma. This is the 24-year-old Nandini Sharma's maiden call-up to the national team.

She rose to fame in the Women's Premier League (WPL) tournament earlier this year, taking 17 wickets from 10 matches for Delhi Capitals (DC). She ended as the joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, along with Gujarat Giants' Sophie Devine.

The Women in Blue are coming on the back of a 4-1 T20I series defeat to South Africa in South Africa. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will hope to put up a promising display in the three-match T20I series against England so that they can head to the T20 World Cup in confidence.

India, who are in Group 1, will begin their T20 World Cup campaign with a match against Pakistan in Birmingham on 14 June. They will then head to Leeds to take on Netherlands three days later, before facing South Africa in Manchester on 21 June.

India will remain in Manchester to face Bangladesh on 25 June, before rounding off the group stage with a match against Australia at Lord's.

India won the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup late last year, beating South Africa in the final. The Women in Blue will be hoping to clinch their maiden T20 World Cup in what will be Harmanpreet Kaur's fifth T20 World Cup as captain.

India women's cricket squad for 2026 T20 World Cup/series vs England: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana (vc), Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Bharti Fulmali, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wk), Shree Charani, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Nandani Sharma, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Kranti Gaud, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav.
