27 Municipalities To Be Added, Underground Cabling in Hyd

The Telangana Cabinet decided to expand GHMC limits by adding 27 municipalities. You now see a wider civic network as the government prepares for major upgrades across Hyderabad.

The four-hour meeting, led by CM Revanth Reddy, included discussions on administrative changes and city planning. IT Minister Sridhar Babu shared the outcomes with the media and highlighted the expansion plan and related infrastructure measures.

Pedda Amberpet, Jalpally, Shamshabad, Turkayanjal, Manikonda, Narsingi, Adibhatla, Medchal, Nagaram, Dammaiguda, Pocharam, Ghatkesar, Gundlapochampally, Tumkunta, Kompally, Dundigal, Bollaram, Tellapur, Ameenpur, Badangpet, Bandlaguda Jagir, Meerpet, Boduppal, Nizampet, Peerzadiguda, Jawaharnagar will now come under GHMC limits.

The Cabinet approved new DISCOMS and transfer of lift irrigation connections, Hyderabad Metro water supply, and Mission Bhageeratha connections to them. Sridhar Babu said they aim to meet electricity needs for the next decade and plan to buy 3000 MW solar power through new tenders.

He said electricity-related issues were reviewed in detail. The Cabinet cleared a Young India School on 20 acres in Dummugudem, Bhadradri district. It also allotted 40 acres for a sports school in Jaggannapeta, Mulugu district, expanding education and training options.

Advanced training centres will come up across the state, including Jubilee Hills. Hyderabad will be split into three circles for better management. The Cabinet also approved underground cabling for electricity, cable, and T-Fibre networks at a cost of Rs 14725 crore to GHMC.
