Another huge drug bust in the US has been linked to two Indian-origin people. The duo, originally from Ontario, Canada, were arrested by the Illinois State Police with over $40 million worth of cocaine.

During a routine truck inspection near the Iowa state line, the police seized Vanshpreet Singh, 27, and Manpreet Singh, 36, with over 1,100 pounds of drugs. These were hidden in the semi-trailer, hinting that this might be part of an elaborate smuggling operation.

As the truck traveled from Canada, this incident raised concerns about how such a huge shipment crossed borders. While the police did a great job of stopping the trailer, the size of this operation highlights the wider problems in the system.

The two Indian-origin men seem like pawns, hinting at a larger network of smugglers across borders. They are currently in jail on the charges of trafficking and possessing cocaine.
