The stampede at Sandhya Theater has turned into a tragedy for the family of Sritej. While his mother Revati (32) died on spot, a heart-wrenching situation was awaiting Sritej.

During the stampede, Sritej stopped breathing for some time. But he was revived through CPR by the police who later shifted him to KIMS Secunderabad.

Sritej has been in hospital for 56 days now. But he hasn't opened his eyes neither has he spoken a word. He was on ventilator for some time, but it was taken off later as he started breathing on his own.

Once he started breathing, he was shifted from ICU to a special room. Even today, Sritej is given liquid food through a pipe passing through his nose.

Even the doctors are unsure as to when Sritej will recover as he hasn't shown any progress so far. Though all the internal organs of Sritej are functioning fine, his recovery still remains a big question said Dr Chetan and Dr Vishnutej of KIMS, giving an update on the 9-yr-old's condition.

The doctors have been performing physiotherapy, but the boy hasn't shown recovery. The government is providing medical aid to Sritej, while film personalities have come forward to help him.
