Actor Disha Patani's father, Jagdish Singh Patani has fallen victim to a recent scam in UP's Bareilly, making him lose a total of ₹25 Lakh rupees.

Her father, who is a retired Deputy Suprintendent of Police, was scammed by a gang of five, who promised him a high-ranking government position, owing to their 'supposed' contacts up in the government.

Jagdish Patani was lured with the promises of prestigious positions, such as the chairman or vice-chairman of a government commission.

He confronted the scammers after giving ₹5 Lakhs in cash and ₹20 Lakhs by bank transfer, receiving multiple threats in return.

The police has started the investigation on the matter, identifying four of the culprits as Shivendra Pratap Singh, Diwakar Garg, Acharya Jayaprakash of Juna Akhara, and Preeti Garg, with one remaining unidentified.

This comes as yet another tragedy in Disha Patani's life after her film 'Kanguva' received disastrous reviews along with poor Box Office performance.

Her role in the film turned out to be horrible, with only the bikini scene standing out on its own. While the actor has not commented on this situation as of now, social media seems to be turning sympathetic to her.

One social media user wrote, "After Kanguva, another tragedy for the Patani family. Hope they recover soon", while another expressed his concerns saying, "Even the family of a celebrity like Disha Patani isn't safe from fraud in this country!"

It would be interesting to see how Disha Patani reacts to this issue, as the police investigation progresses further.
