Indian OTT users are not very happy with what is going on in the OTT spectrum. People feel like these platforms are transforming into something similar to TV channels and it is disturbing.
The change towards OTT from TV promised users many things. But they feel betrayed with the breach in those promises. Glitches, strange device limits policies and ads are making them frustrated. Prime Video, Jio Hotstar, SonyLIV are being regularly bashed for their ads.

Platforms showing excessive ads seems to be a very unfair practice as users are already paying a good deal of money for the premium subscription. All the platforms are now showing ads and you cannot watch anything without going through them.
Buying a premium subscription was necessary for doing away with ads. But now you cannot do anything even with the premium subscription.

Only Netflix is not following this trend and they are still showing content without ads. Fans are very appreciative of Netflix for this but they still fear that it will start copying the other platforms soon.
But hopefully Netflix will stand out and be an example to others of how a successful OTT platform can run even without ads.
