In the past, the width was estimated at 70 mts and the cost was estimated at Rs 16,310 crore. Now, the width will be 140 mts bolstering the cost to Rs 25,000 crore.
The Morth minister has sent the new estimate to Project Appraisal Technical Scrutiny Committee.
Finally, 140 Mt width has been decided. This is a first in the country as 140 Mt width hasn't been approved elsewhere in the country.
The state government will be bearing Rs 1000 crore for the Rs 25,000 crore project. Rs 5600 crore will be spent on land acquisition. It will also bear Rs 2000 crore seigniorage charges.
Details regarding which lands can be taken in Eluru, NTR, Krishna, Palnadu and Guntur need to be finalised and report given to NHAI.
Details from Palnadu have been given. Some changes have been suggested in Eluru, while reports from other districts will be submitted within 2 weeks.
