Amaravati ORR: Where Are The 19 Interchanges?

Mirchi 9 3 days ago

Amaravati's Outer Ring Road plan is now getting clearer, with one key detail standing out. There will be 19 fixed interchanges.

The proposed ORR around Amaravati, Vijayawada and Guntur is being designed as an access-controlled greenfield road.

Vehicles can enter or exit only at these designated points, which helps maintain speed and reduce congestion inside cities.

The project will cover around 190 km across NTR, Krishna, Eluru, Guntur and Palnadu districts. It will cross several major highways, and interchanges are being planned exactly at those junctions.

Initially, 17 interchanges were proposed by the National Highways Authority of India. Later, based on the state government's request, two more were added, taking the total to 19. The DPR is currently under review, and approval is expected soon.

Here is the full list of interchanges in simple terms:

Once completed, the project is expected to ease traffic in Vijayawada and Guntur, reduce travel time, and support Amaravati's growth as a capital region.
