The Jubilee Hills by-election has become a major talking point across political circles in Telangana. Wednesday marks the last day for filing nominations, following a sudden spike in the number of contestants.
The withdrawal of nominations will take place the following day, after which all parties will begin campaigning for their candidates.
Meanwhile, the Congress has released its list of star campaigners, sparking fresh political chatter. The move has triggered speculation that another by-election could soon take place in Telangana.

The BRS has strongly criticised the ruling Congress for including the name of one of its own MLAs in the list. The controversy comes as the Supreme Court has directed the Telangana Speaker to decide on defecting MLAs within three months, with a deadline set for October 31.
At this sensitive juncture, Congress naming Danam Nagender as a star campaigner has provided ammunition for BRS to target the ruling party, political analysts say. The BRS may even approach the court seeking action against Nagender. Many analysts believe that, given these developments, a by-election now appears unavoidable.
For months, there have been reports that Danam Nagender, Kadiyam Srihari, and Tellam Venkatrao face likely disqualification due to strong evidence of defection. Notably, while still a BRS MLA, Danam Nagender contested the Lok Sabha elections after receiving a B form from the Congress.
As a result, Congress is said to be preparing for a by-election in Nagender's constituency. If the party secures a win in Jubilee Hills, it plans to put BRS and BJP on the defensive by making Nagender resign and forcing a fresh election.
With these new political twists, the future of Telangana's political landscape remains uncertain.
