The start for 2025 at the Tollywood box office has been a rather sedated one. Not many films, have been able to crack the code and have a brilliant run at the box after Sankranthiki Vasthunnam which made merry of the Sankranthi season.
In particular, this ongoing April month appears to be a very poor one for the Tollywood box office. There is absolutely nothing going its way in terms of theatrical returns.
NKR'S Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi USA Premieres Today
Siddhu Jonnalagadda's Jack is the only notable film to have released and it's a washout at the ticket counters. Ajith's Good Bad Ugly was subbed and released but not to much avail as it was also not recognised.
Now the only other notable film that is releasing in theatres, this April is Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi. This film is preparing for release on April 18, and it is being promoted as a proper commercial entertainer.
Prabhas, Mahesh, AA, NTR: Whose Film the Biggest?
Considering the commercial appeal and the mass touch, it has to be seen if this film will bring any theatrical revenues this weekend.
We also have Odela 2 which is releasing on April 17. Considering the fact that this is a sequel, we have to see if this film will go anywhere at the Tollywood box office amidst this dry slump.
Venkatesh's Dilemma Without Ravipudi is Real
The lack of star hero films, and subsequent fanfare at the theatres is becoming a cause of concern here in this scenario. This is something that has to be addressed by Tollywood immediately.
As things stand, it is Kalyan film, which could possibly be seen as the only lifeline for the box office this month. The theatrical revenues have been absolutely pathetic for the opening. Half of April and single screen owners will be hoping that things will change with the Kalyanram film this weekend.
