The hype surrounding the film was not translated to box office numbers. While it is produced by the director of Jawan, Baby John was expected to rake in ₹25 crores on its opening day, which only managed ₹12-13 crores, showing how much of a gap between expectation and reality there was.

Collections for the film are expected to dip further on Monday because of bad word of mouth. Negative reviews and reactions from the audience will also mean that Baby John would be ending its first weekend at around ₹60-65 crores, which is pretty disappointing for such a big release.
