The news of Shah Rukh Khan's casting in an MCU film has been creating headlines. The reports emerged out of a post shared by Marvel Leaks through X on April 26, 2025.
Notably, SRK or Marvel Studios have not responded to the rumor so far, and the comments section of the post has been restricted to those who are being followed by the page. The post includes a photo, and the caption does not disclose anything.

However, if the news is true, it might turn out to be beneficial for all the theatre owners and distributors of India. There are two reasons, with the first being Marvel and the second, SRK.
Marvel has managed to build a huge fan base in India over the years and that too without any aggressive promotions. A few years ago, they even released the Marvel Anthem with A.R. Rahman before the arrival of Avengers: Endgame, which was able to do record-breaking business in India.

Moreover, Deadpool & Wolverine had also collected Rs. 100 crores at the Indian box office at the end of its theatrical run.
Although the condition of Marvel films has not been up to the mark after Endgame, they have still attracted a lot of people to the theatres in India. In some cases, the shows have gone housefull for films that have emerged as a flop in the end.

But the situation will take a completely different turn if SRK is cast as the lead. After Thunderbolts, the MCU has already planned a big lineup for Phase Six, starting with Fantastic Four: The First Steps in July this year.
With two more films on Avengers and one on Spider-Man, it looks like Marvel has some space left for SRK's casting.
The films are being made on a huge budget, and since Anthony and Joe Russo are also stepping in as directors for the Avengers, again, it seems like SRK might appear in a form we have never seen in the past.
But all of these are just speculations for now. We have to wait for an official announcement from both sides, and considering SRK's habit of keeping things a secret, the wait might be longer than expected.
