In February, 2025, Gopinath was admitted to AIG, Gachibowli, with kidney related issues. His condition was said to be grave. There was talk at the time that his condition was serious.
The 61-year-old was suffering with health issues for around five months and when the problem got aggravated, he was kept in AIG for some days.
However, neither the BRS party nor the hospital released a note about his health condition. Today, Maganti Gopinath once again faced health issues. While his primary problem was kidney infection, he is said to be suffering from multiple organ failure.
