Google India has come forward to provide cutting-edge traffic management solutions for Hyderabad city.

The vehicular traffic in the city is increasing by the day and so are pollution levels.

As of June 2024, Hyderabad had 80 lakh vehicles. Current Air Quality Index is 111 in the city, which is poor.

Given the stats, Google has come forward to improve the city's road systems. Top-level Google officials went to Telangana State Police Integrated Command and Control Center (TSPICCC) to put forth ways to deal with city's traffic problems using Google's advanced technology.

It has to be recalled that the Telangana government inked an MoU with the tech giant to introduce tech-driven solutions across key sectors.

The Google team comprising top executives from DeepMind, Google Cloud, Google Customer Solutions met up with Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand to discuss traffic management strategies.

Google and Hyderabad Police explored integrating live Google Maps data for real-time traffic management through updates. Automating signals based on traffic flow, improving patrolling vehicle tracking and using drone surveillance for monitoring congestion were also the key points discussed.

Google top brass also suggested cloud-based solutions for better data storage and AI tools for faster CCTV Footage retrieval.
