Rashtriya Vanara Sena has filed a case on director Rajamouli. The group approached the Saroor Nagar police and complained about his comments on Hanuman during the event for his upcoming film with Mahesh Babu, Varanasi.
They demanded that a case be booked against him. They also urged the police to ensure that no one makes comments against Hindu gods in the future. Their complaint has added tension around the film event.
On 15 Nov, the name revealing function for Varanasi was held at Ramoji Film City. The event faced several technical glitches. This led to visible disappointment and anger from Rajamouli.
While on stage, Rajamouli said that his father Vijayayendra Prasad had told him that Lord Hanuman would ensure the event runs smoothly. He added that his wife also believes in Hanuman. Rajamouli then said, "I don't believe in God." He expressed anger as the glitches continued despite assurances from his family.
There is also an issue with the title Varanasi. A complaint was filed in the Film Chamber by a man claiming he had already registered the title. This matter adds another layer to the controversy.
