In late July, Chandrababu Naidu and his son, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, visited Singapore to bring back the city-state as a partner. This time, the collaboration will go beyond seed capital development.

Singapore will provide support in urban planning, technology, logistics, and infrastructure investment.

Soon after the visit, Singapore announced on LinkedIn that it would re-enter the Amaravati project in a "different format." Its sovereign wealth fund GIC has committed to investing Rs 45,000 crore. However, this time Singapore sought assurances from the Indian government before making the move.

Following the trip, Lokesh met Union Minister of External Affairs Jaishankar in New Delhi to brief him on the progress. A formal announcement is expected shortly. With global trade uncertainties and possible new US tariffs, India is looking towards East Asia, making Amaravati's revival a strategic win.

The return of Singapore to Amaravati not only reflects India's push for stronger Asian partnerships but also highlights Chandrababu Naidu's personal involvement and leadership in turning this long-delayed dream back into reality.
