Chandrababu was announced president by TDP election committee chairman Varla Ramaiah. He also made Chandrababu take oath as the new national president.
Chandrababu was congratulated by leaders across sections in the party. Babu has been holding the post since 1995, for three decades now.
The TDP holds its presidential elections every two years and Babu has been getting unwavering support from his party members. Since its inception, the TDP party president has been elected unanimously. Late TDP founder NTR held the post for 14 years between 1982 and 1996.

After the election of the president, the rest of the working committee will be elected as is the norm in the party. Chandrababu is being congratulated by scores of party workers.
This Mahanadu is special as it is being held in Kadapa, Rayalaseema, for the first time. Incidentally, Chandrababu is also a Rayalaseema bidda hailing from Naravaripalle in Chittoor. It is also the grandest Mahanadu so far!
