Nandamuri Balakrishna's comments in the AP Assembly sparked a major controversy. Nobody knows what triggered him, but his language shocked many.
Words like Psycho Gadu and Evadu were seen as unacceptable.
Some believe Balakrishna directly targeted Chiranjeevi, while others argue he did not. Still, the tone was clearly offensive. Chiranjeevi, who recently noted that his intervention brought Veera Simha Reddy ticket hikes, appeared deeply offended. His reaction is understandable.
However, Chiranjeevi also lost his calm and ended up extending unexpected support to Jagan. His press note made it sound like Jagan never disrespected him. There was no mention of him pleading with folded hands or film celebrities being made to walk to Jagan's residence.
In the Assembly, Kamineni Srinivasa Rao alleged that Jagan initially refused to meet film celebrities and wanted them to approach the Cinematography Minister. Only after Chiranjeevi insisted did Jagan agree. Chiranjeevi avoided clarifying whether this allegation was true.
His entire press note focused on keeping an apolitical image while taking a clear shot at Balakrishna. But in doing so, he might have weakened his brother Pawan Kalyan politically.
During the 2024 campaign, Pawan repeatedly claimed Jagan insulted Chiranjeevi. Now, with Chiranjeevi suggesting no such insult happened, his statements clash with Pawan's earlier stand. By omitting key details, Chiranjeevi seemed more focused on avoiding friction with Jagan and YSRCP.
Interestingly, he never clarified this issue back then. Only after Balakrishna's sharp words did Chiranjeevi react. For Balakrishna, this controversy barely matters. But for Pawan Kalyan, the political loss is real.
