Producer Anand Pandit seems to have set the stage for the iconic return of Amitabh Bachchan by announcing a sequel to the 1978 cult classic 'Trishul'.

The announcement sparked a wave of excitement among fans while they were celebrating Big B's 87th birthday.

Anand Pandit shared that he deeply admired Amitabh Bachchan, and Trishul has also had a very special place in his heart, and it was that movie and its protagonist Vijay's story that led to him leaving Gujrat to come to Mumbai to chase his dreams.

Ratan Tata's Only Film As Producer

He further clarified that this sequel to the movie would continue with Vijay's (Amitabh Bachchan) life post-reconciliation with the Gupta family, shedding light on his family, future, and emotional healing.

Hardcore fans of the original classic seem to be over the top with this news as they wait for Vijay's story to unfold. Some people do seem to be critical of the producer's decision to go for a sequel, and rightfully so, as Trishul's Telugu remake 'Mr. Bharath', released in 1986 and starring Sobhan Babu, was a huge flop.

Ratan Tata's Romance With Yesteryear Hot Actress

There is also a general wave of excitement and curiosity all over social media around 'Trishul 2'. One user wrote, "Anand bhai! We will all be indebted if this happens for real.", while another expressed his doubts by questioning the need for a sequel to such a classic.

The producer has clarified that he has not yet thought of a director for the project, and will inform the public as new developments are made in it. With Trishul getting its sequel after almost 46 years, it would be very interesting to see if Anand Pandit is able to live up to peoples' expectations.
