Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has issued a strict directive to ensure full participation of all MLAs in welfare programmes, particularly in the distribution of pensions to beneficiaries.
During a meeting with party office members on Saturday, Chandrababu instructed officials to issue notices to 48 MLAs who failed to take part in distributing pensions and CMRF cheques. He said explanations would be sought from them before deciding on further action.
The CM made it clear that there would be zero tolerance toward negligence in welfare delivery. He reminded MLAs that pension cheques are meant for the elderly and should be distributed with sincerity. He also urged them to work closely with party karyakartas who are striving for the party's growth.
Chandrababu emphasised that leaders must stay connected with people to build trust and maintain strong public rapport. He directed all MLAs to actively participate in the Praja Vignyapti programmes held every Friday to gain firsthand information on citizens' issues.
He further warned that any MLA failing to attend these programmes would be reported to him directly. Chandrababu also reminded legislators that it was their duty to communicate the financial challenges faced by the government while implementing the Super Six promises.
Calling for discipline and accountability, Chandrababu reiterated that public service demands dedication, and those unwilling to fulfil their responsibilities will face consequences.
