Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has proposed for a statue and according of Bharat Ratna to late Dr Manmohan Singh, in the state assembly.
Following this, the state assembly has also passed a resolution to request the central government to confer Bharat Ratna to Dr Singh.

The government condoled the death of Dr Singh and proposed to erect his statue in the financial district as he was one of great economists of India.

CM Revanth Reddy reminisced the support and role of Dr Singh in the formation of the Telangana State in 2014. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act was passed during his term said the CM.
The statue was an act of gratitude said the CM as the region gained statehood under UPA-II government.

Reddy called him the 'architect of economic reforms' and lauded the efforts of Dr Singh in stabilizing Indian economy through liberalization, privatization and globalization.
The CM credited Dr Singh's role in bringing about simple economic policies which also included Employment Guarantee Scheme, Right to Information and Natural Rural Health Mission.
BRS working head KCR extended his support to the proposal saying Dr Singh was a 'man of simple living and high thinking'.
