Did Music Composer Intentionally Ruin Sikandar?

Sikandar was released yesterday, but instead of making waves as a Salma Khan film should, it has been receiving mostly average reviews from audiences and critics alike.

Among the many reasons for its mediocre reception, one major drawback is its background score.

Santhosh Narayanan composed the film's music, and based on his enthusiastic social media posts, it seemed like he was the only one truly excited about Sikandar. However, his work has turned out to be a major disappointment.

Santhosh has delivered exceptional music in Tamil films. In fact, he has composed the background score for the upcoming film Retro, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde.

However, his bias towards Tamil cinema seems evident, as his scores for Tamil films have consistently outshined his work in Hindi films by a significant margin.

The background score in Sikandar feels highly uneven- bearable at times and completely out of sync at others.

Music is a crucial element of storytelling. It can enhance a scene's impact or diminish it entirely. A powerful background score can make dialogues and emotional moments far more memorable.

Unfortunately, Sikandar itself lacks a proper flow and rhythm. The scenes feel disjointed, and very few moments leave a lasting impact.

A stronger background score could have elevated the film, but ultimately, a well-written film with a coherent rhythm would have demanded a better score from the composer.

While Santhosh Narayanan cannot be entirely blamed, both the film's writing and music fall short.

That said, given his immense talent, some fans believe he is simply more invested in Tamil cinema and may not have put in his best efforts for Sikandar.
