After the Game Changer disaster, top producer Dil Raju is once again venturing into the remake game. After the success of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam in Telugu, he now plans to recreate the same magic in Bollywood.
However, industry experts believe this could be a risky move. Dil Raju has already attempted Bollywood remakes before, but they didn't yield great results.

Previously, he remade Nani's Jersey in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor and also backed HIT as a Bollywood remake. While both films received positive reviews, they ended up as disasters at the box office.
Now, he is confident that Sankranthiki Vasthunnam will connect with the Hindi audience. However, one major hurdle is that Anil Ravipudi, who directed the original, won't be helming the Hindi version.

His unique style and promotional strategies played a crucial role in the Telugu version's success, but he is currently occupied with a film starring Chiranjeevi.
Since Anil Ravipudi is unavailable, Dil Raju is in talks with multiple Hindi directors for the remake. Reports suggest that Akshay Kumar is being considered for the lead role, and Dil Raju has already paid him an advance. The film is being planned for a Sankranti 2026 release.
Sandeep Vanga's Strict Order: Will Prabhas Accept?
However, Akshay hasn't had a solid box office hit in a while, making this project a gamble. While Dil Raju believes that Akshay's comic timing suits the film's genre, poor execution could lead to another failure like Jersey.
Akshay recently delivered huge debacles with remakes like Sarfira, Selfiee, Khel Khel Mein, Bachchan Paandey, and Laxmii.
It remains to be seen whether Dil Raju will succeed this time or face another setback in Bollywood.
