The Diwali season is finally upon us, and with it brings two new theatrical outings that are showing decent promise. The two new theatrical outings are Kiran Abbavaram's KA and Dulquer Salman's Lucky Bhaskar.
Pushpa 2: 50 Done, 65 Possible, 75 Target!
Lucky Bhaskar is a banking-oriented drama and it deals with a commoner who grows from rags to riches through the stock market. Producer Naga Vamsi is particularly sure about the film's success.
Then we have Ka, which appears to be a rustic drama with Kiran Abbavaram in the central role. The trailer was unveiled today and it hinted a rural folklore kind of a set-up.
Sobhita Gets Introduced as Nag's D-I-L
By the looks of it, both the noteworthy films that are arriving at the box office this Diwali are content-driven dramas.
Coming to the box office side of things, there are reports that the theatrical business of Lucky Bhaskar is around Rs 15 crore. The theatrical business of Ka is around about Rs 3 crore which is a very modest target.
Mahesh As Lord Krishna? Bad Idea?
But the issue is that neither of the films have a ready-to-throng set of audience to immediately cash in. A lot will depend on the kind of reviews and early audience reception they attain on day 1.
But given what is being promised through the trailers, we have some neat stuff coming up this festival season.
