The Prashanth Neel and NTR pan India project, tentatively titled Dragon, is facing serious timeline uncertainty. The film was first planned for Sankranti 2026. Later, the release was shifted to June 25, 2026. Now even that date looks doubtful.
From December onward, the team has only six months left. Prashanth Neel is known for taking long post production schedules. Films like KGF and Salaar required extensive time for editing, VFX, sound work and color grading. Given that pattern, completing Dragon within such a short window seems almost impossible.
NTR may finish his portion of the shoot by March. However, postproduction, promotional campaigns, marketing plans and prerelease events all require significant time. Industry talk strongly suggests that the June deadline may be missed. The film may shift beyond summer.
Mythri Movie Makers already have several films lined up for the summer window. Ustaad Bhagat Singh and Fauzi are part of that list. If Dragon moves out of June, the next options are Dussehra or Diwali. Even those periods need careful planning to avoid clashing with Fauzi or other major releases. There is also a possibility that the film may get pushed to Sankranti 2027.
NTR is extremely cautious with this project. After setbacks like Devara and War 2, he wants Dragon to restore the credibility he earned after RRR. For that to happen, the film must be a massive blockbuster. Prashanth Neel is known for perfectionism and avoids compromises. He has reportedly reshot many portions. Both Neel and NTR are preferring quality over speed. This makes an aggressive 6-month timeline unrealistic.
As of now, industry experts feel the film may be forced to shift further. The only way to meet the June deadline is through an unusually fast post production phase. Prashanth Neel has never worked at that pace before, which makes the delay highly likely.
