Elon Musk has come under fire once again with a controversial update to his social media platform.

The X owner has been championing the removal of the block button from his microblogging site for more than a year.

Now, he has confirmed that in the new update, the option to block someone will remain on the site but the users will continue to view posts from the account that has blocked them.

The people were not happy with this change as this makes the platform more prone to trolls and bots. Some users even said that this, along with many other unwelcomed changes, has driven them to quit X.

When the American billionaire bought Twitter he claimed that he would listen to the people in curating his social media platform. People criticized him for going against his initial promise as no one asked or wanted this change in the first place.

A few of his supporters came to his aid, claiming that he should go one step further and scrap the blocking replies option from posts as well. However, most believe that instead of fixing other things like bots, spam, and misinformation on the platform, Musk is trying to fix things that are not broken in the first place.
