He pointed out that male stars in Kalki 2989 AD title cards were introduced with "Shri" next to their names. It included Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Kamal Hassan. The leading male actors were introduced by the respectful salutation often followed in the Indian tradition.

But he pointed out that Deepika Padukone was only introduced just by her name. He questioned the reason for this discrimination. Why was "Sushri" or "Shrimati" not added next to her name?

Fans also took to commenting on the matter. Many brought the major issue of gender pay gap and #Metoo issue that haunts entertainment industry. They added that such subtle sexism also adds onto these concerns. Feminists are certainly not happy with this blunder made by the makers of Kalki 2989 AD.
