The Adani Data Center has got clearances from the environment department and the road is now clear for the development of Data Center.

The land was given to the Data Center by erstwhile TDP government during its 2014-2019 rule. However, nothing moved under YSRCP regime though they allocated a hill and things stood as they were.

Things look bright for the project under the new government. Within six months in power, the TDP government is committed to complete the Adani Data Centre project.

The State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) has given its clearances and works will begin soon. If one goes back a little, the permission for Data Center was given under TDP's rule.

When Jagan came into power, the earlier agreement was struck down and a new agreement was reached. They even allocated a hill in Madhurawada and a fresh lease was signed. Land worth Rs 10 crore was leased at Rs 1 crore, which was later changed to sale deed.

The project was named Vizag Tech Park Limited instead of Adani's name. The ground-breaking happened on May 3, 2023 and the access road to the hill was blocked with stones.

Adani promised to provide 24,990 jobs and Rs 14,634 crore in investments. In total, Adani promised to build 300 MW data center. However, according to a prior agreement, Adani was to build 200MW data center, an IT business park in 28 acres and start a skill university in 11 acres.

Now, SEIAA has made it clear that since the data center is in an environment sensitive zone, the Adani group cannot construct a hi-rise. It has to develop 30 Mt as a green belt buffer zone. The Group will also have to deposit Rs 10 crore for the same.

The project will need 2644 kilo liters of water. Adani Group has said it will use around 1400 kilo liters from GVMC and the rest from a sewerage treatment plant it will build and use its recycled water.
